About the Role

Teslasuit, a global leader in advanced wearable technology, is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Mechanical Prototyper to support the R&D team in developing next-generation wearable electronics. This role is ideal for someone passionate about engineering, prototyping, and iterative product development. You’ll work closely with mechanical engineers to create, assemble, and test mechanical components and systems, contributing directly to product improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist mechanical engineers in developing 3D models and mechanical parts using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
  • Prepare simple assemblies, design updates, and modifications under supervision
  • Support routine engineering tasks and documentation preparation
  • Fabricate basic prototypes using R&D tools, equipment, and rapid prototyping methods (e.g., 3D printing, manual machining, laser cutting)
  • Assemble mechanical units or subsystems for internal evaluation and testing
  • Conduct basic functional and fit tests under guidance and document results
  • Maintain organized and accurate logs of prototype builds, changes, and test results
  • Support the creation and update of bills of materials (BOM), assembly drawings, and test reports
  • Work closely with engineers, electronics developers, and textile designers to align mechanical components with system needs
  • Participate in design reviews and provide hands-on insights based on prototyping experience
  • Provide feedback on design-for-manufacturability and assembly based on prototyping experience
  • Contribute ideas for improving tools, processes, and efficiency in mechanical prototyping

Required Qualifications

  • Ongoing or completed university-level education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Design, or a related field
  • Relevant hands-on experience gained through personal hobby projects, university labs, or internships
  • Intermediate proficiency in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks or equivalent)
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and materials
  • Familiarity with prototyping equipment (3D printers, hand tools, lab tools)
  • Strong attention to detail and a hands-on mindset
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and document work clearly
  • Proactive, organized, and curious about product development processes
  • Strong command of written and spoken English (Level C1+)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with wearable technology, robotics, or small form-factor products
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary R&D (electronics, textiles, etc.)
  • Exposure to lab or workshop environments and collaborative prototyping workflows

Working Conditions

  • This position is located in Prague, Czech Republic and requires regular travel to our Prague R&D office
  • Ability to work in a workshop or lab environment, including use of hand tools and prototyping equipment
  • Manual dexterity for assembling small mechanical components
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during testing or assembly
  • Occasionally lift or handle materials or prototypes up to 10–15 kg

What we offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment
