Electronics Engineer

About the role

Teslasuit, a global leader in advanced wearable technology, is looking for a skilled and innovative Electronics Engineer to drive the development of next-generation medical and XR wearable devices.

This role combines hands-on circuit design, prototyping, and system integration with leadership in hardware R&D. You’ll work across disciplines to architect reliable, low-power electronics for human-centered applications, contributing to both new product development and the evolution of Teslasuit’s existing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Core Hardware Design & Development
    • Design analog and digital circuits tailored for wearable applications (low power, flexible form factors)
    • Interface with sensors including IMUs, haptics, EMG/ECG, temperature, and others
    • Create schematic capture and PCB layouts (multi-layer, rigid-flex, small form-factor) using Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar tools
    • Optimize BOM for power efficiency, cost, and sourcing reliability
    • Conduct risk analysis for EOL components and supply chain issues
  • Prototyping & Testing
    • Assemble and bring up early-stage boards and wearable prototypes
    • Debug hardware using lab tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
    • Perform functional, thermal, EMI, mechanical stress, and field testing
    • Design and support test jigs and fixtures for lab and production use
  • Firmware-Hardware Integration
    • Collaborate with firmware engineers to ensure proper low-level control, calibration, and performance
  • Supplier and Manufacturing Interface
    • Communicate with PCB/PCBA vendors and oversee sample production
    • Provide input during EVT/DVT/PVT phases of product development
  • Documentation
    • Maintain detailed technical documentation including design specs, test plans, and version control records
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with firmware, mechanical, textile, and embedded/software engineers
    • Contribute to system architecture for modularity and manufacturability
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Collaborate with quality and regulatory teams to meet medical standards (e.g., FDA submissions, ISO 13485)
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and propose innovative hardware solutions
    • Evaluate new sensors, microcontrollers, wireless protocols (BLE, UWB), and wearable materials
    • Benchmark technologies such as soft electronics, stretchable PCBs, and bio-compatible coatings

Process

  • Apply DFX principles (Design for Manufacturing, Testing, Assembly)
  • Use version control systems (Git) for hardware documentation and collaboration
  • Support Agile development practices and iterative prototyping

Strategy

  • Lead hardware R&D initiatives aligned with product roadmaps
  • Manage risk and ensure timely delivery of hardware milestones
  • Contribute to long-term hardware platform evolution

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded hardware development
  • Proficiency in analog/digital circuit design and PCB layout
  • Experience with PCB Design Certifications (e.g., Altium)
  • Experience with STM32, ESP32, or similar microcontrollers
  • Familiarity with BLE, SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, ADC, DAC interfaces
  • Skilled in using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, generators, logic analyzers)
  • Strong knowledge of DFM, DFT, DFA principles
  • Experience with firmware-hardware integration in C/C++
  • Excellent documentation and version control practices (e.g., Git)
  • Strong command of written and spoken English (Level C1+)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • European Union or United Kingdom citizenship, permanent residency, or right to work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in setting up projects for series manufacturing
  • System-level thinking and cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • Exposure to medical device standards and regulatory documentation

Working Conditions

  • This position is located in Prague, Czech Republic and requires regular travel to our Prague R&D office
  • Ability to work in a lab environment, including occasional use of lab equipment for testing and debugging
  • The role may involve some travel to support remote locations
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours may be necessary for critical issues or planned maintenance

What we offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment
  • Flexible working arrangements
